...after spending my Veteran's day off hanging out with a friend Moses and working on his restoration project of a classic VW Notchback, and finding this picture on my computer, I'm reminded of one simple truth: Life's always better with a friend....tomorrow's the birthday of my best childhood best friend RJ; I've always remembered that every November 12th, even though I've lost touch with him over the years...:( Anyway, happy B-DAY Robert John Hawkins, hope it's your best one yet :).....your buddy Shawn

.....so, it's that time of year again, when we Nevadans go hunting for the elusive mountain pigeon, otherwise known as a 'chukar.' They say the first time it's for fun, but after that it's for revenge. I concur. So does Ginger. Amazingly enough, she's a complete mutt, and yet in all of her otherwise worthless moments, managed to scrounge up the instincts of an expensive hunting dog as she ran to and fro looking for birds, never getting to far ahead of us, and I didn't have to chase her once.....more amazing things have happened to me in the past, but at the moment this one takes the cake; here's to Ginger the Hunting Mutt!
